Preserving the Indian Heritage - Mission Vedpradip

The Sarda Group is committed to the preservation of the ancient Indian Vedas, which are considered to be the foundations of the Indian culture and heritage. The Vedas comprise a vast corpus of Sanskrit poetry, philosophical dialogue, myth, and ritual incantations developed and composed by Aryans over 3,500 years ago.

Although the Vedas continue to play an important role in contemporary Indian life, only thirteen of the over one thousand Vedic recitation branches have survived. Moreover, four noted schools – in Maharashtra (central India), Kerala and Karnataka (southern India) and Orissa (eastern India) – are considered under imminent threat.

The Sarda Group supports the preservation of the Vedas through various initiatives like the Ved School, the Ved Mandir and has also instituted the Ved Vedang Puraskar.

Ved School

The first ever Veda School founded in Nashik, which teaches the holy Vedas to people irrespective of their caste and religion. The students are imparted education of the Vedas, English and Sanskrit plus they are provided with various facilities like residential, school, transport and food to encourage participation.

The school has a well-compiled database of all the pundits across India through primary research. In terms of resources, various audio and video files of the Vedas are preserved for reference and their library is equipped with over 6000 Veda books. The school has on its own, published six books.

The Ved Mandir

The emblem of pilgrimage located in Nashik is dedicated to Guru Gangeshwaranandji Maharaj, the ambassador of Vedic practice in modern times.

Looked upon as an architectural wonder due to its intricate designs and wondrous structure, the Mandir was constructed by Sheth Kishanlalaji and his wife in the memory of his late Father Shri Bastiramji Sarda. The Mandir is a treasure trove of the original scripts, audio and video files of the Vedic mantras. The idea is to generate and encourage Vedic practice amongst people and reach the true spirit of the ancient Indian culture to them.

The Ved Vedang Puraskar

In a bid to encourage the study and propagation of Ved, the Group has initiated the Ved Vedang Puraskar – a national level award for the Ved Pandits. The award recognizes their stellar work in research and knowledge on ancient Indian scriptures.
